Basement construction

Welcome to basement construction section. In this section we present step by step  process of basement construction.

Demolition: If your basement was previously finished, we need to take everything out before we can start.

  See our learning center

Waterproofing: Fix and seal all cracks, then waterproof with DRYLOK all foundation walls.

Framing: Treated studs are used on bottom of frame. Vertical studs are spaced 16 inches from center to center. Ceiling is usually lowered to cover any existing mechanical parts or pipes. For heating ducts and support beams soffits are built.

Electrical: Installation of all electrical hardware, pull electrical, cable TV and telephone wires, installation of temporary switches and receptacles.

Inspection of electrical

Heating: Installation of supplies, returns and bathroom vent

Inspection of heating (If applicable)

Rough in plumbing: If you are having a bathroom installed we need to install plumbing lower than the concrete floor. That means breaking through the concrete from the location of a toilet and shower/tub to the ejector pit (If you don’t have one or it is too far we have to install one along with an ejector sewage pump) and install all the drain pipes.

Plumbing: We have to bring hot and cold water to the bathroom fixtures through copper pipes.

R-13 Insulation: Insulation is stapled between studs.

The next step of our construction process is presented in carpentry section.
